Who needs sight seeing when this suitcase IS the sight to be seen?
This beautiful suitcase carries on itself a work of art from the great French artist Hubert Robert, called The Bathing Pool, that was completed sometime between 1777-1779. Robert traveled through Italy for over a decade and painted many landscapes and views from his journies. Interestingly, just painting regular landscapes wasn't as interesting to Robert. He specialized in what's known as "capricci", or fantasized landscape/architectural idealizations. He wanted to capture a specific effect versus get tiny details correct, and he became known very well as one of France's landscape artists and garden designers. Robert completed thousands of works throughout his lifetime.
